The ASRC has collaborated with artists and makers, to bring you a series of unique, limited-edition merchandise, perfect for the festive giving season.

We are honoured to share with you collaborations with Brisbane-based Hazara artist Razia Ghazal, to previous years’ favourites Olana Janfa and Beci Orpin – these artist-designed collections make for a unique gift, with social impact.

In addition to collaborations with local creatives, the ASRC is proud to support artists with lived experience of seeking asylum in Australia.

Razia Ghazal

Brisbane-based artist Razia Ghazal draws on her Hazara heritage to create expressive works, loaded with symbolism. The Razia Ghazal x ASRC collection features an evocative self portrait, conveying nostalgia as well as hope.

Beci Orpin

Olana Janfa

Ethiopian-born Melbourne artist Olana Janfa began painting as a way to reconnect with his culture and create a sense of home. The Olana Janfa x ASRC collection features his artwork ‘Journey to Freedom’, which represents the refugee journey.

Second Stitch

A social enterprise based in Coburg, Melbourne, Second Stitch empowers refugees and women who are seeking asylum through textiles. The Second Stitch x ASRC collection features designs by Olana Janfa, cut, sewn and finished by Second Stitch seamstresses.
